Parachute Woman

Core Sekkyo, Tokyo
March 2003

What could the laboring body of a woman sewing parachutes at a factory mean in the context of the war? This play aspires to show the minimal hope that, like this woman, forced to take unskilled, repetitive, simple labor (like sewing parachutes and ironing them), controlled by a machine and by minute regulations, the most exploited body could still somehow stand up against the injustice of this wold.
