Homesickness bis

RICEGALLERY, Tokyo
September 2002

Presented at the Sagacho Exhibit Space / RICE Gallery, the legendary space leading the contemporary art scene in Tokyo in the 1980s and 90s. Just before the historical Sagacho Shokuryo Building (a rice warehouse) built in 1920s was torn down, the old office furniture was used to build a stage set where natural light, coming in through the windows, could illuminate the stage for the new presentation of Homesickness. Expanding an idea explored in the original play, the presentations explored what demolition of a house has to do with the deconstruction of the family system.
